Are you seeking a high-volume spine practice in one of the nation’s fastest-growing and most livable cities? SportsMED Complete Orthopedic Care is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified, Fellowship-trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon to join our premier, physician-led group in Huntsville, AL. Join Alabama’s elite orthopedic team. At SportsMED, you aren’t just a number; you are a future partner in a practice that has defined orthopedic excellence since 1995. You will join a robust team of 25 physicians and 24 advanced practice providers, including four dedicated fellowship-trained spine surgeons.
Your practice will focus primarily on degenerative spine cases (typically a 60% lumbar / 40% cervical mix). You will enjoy a balanced schedule of 2.5 clinic days and 2.5 OR days per week. Our infrastructure is designed for surgeon efficiency, featuring the ModMed EMR system and a brand-new, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center opening in early 2027, specifically staffed with experienced spine personnel.
Role Highlights:
- Case Mix: Heavy focus on degenerative spine pathology.
- Manageable Call: Spine-only call shared among the spine team for a single hospital; designed to protect your time away from work.
- Full Integration: On-site MRI, Physical & Occupational Therapy, DME, Orthotics/Prosthetics, and Urgent Care.
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD/DO) and completion of an Orthopedic Surgery Residency.
- Fellowship training (completed or in-progress) in Orthopedic Spine Surgery.
- Board-Eligible or Board-Certified (BC/BE) in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, patient-centered approach.
- Note: We are unable to accept J-1 or H-1B visa applicants at this time.
