Job Summary

UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join our thriving practice at OrthoCare Hanover in Hanover, PA. Job Description

As an Orthopedic Surgeon at UPMC Hanover, you will step into a dynamic, multidisciplinary care environment designed to support your clinical autonomy and surgical growth. You will diagnose, treat, and manage a diverse patient population presenting with acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced orthopedic surgical procedures in state-of-the-art operating suites at UPMC Hanover.
  • Deliver comprehensive outpatient evaluations and personalized post-operative care at the modern OrthoCare Hanover facility.
  • Collaborate closely with a dedicated team of advanced practice providers (APPs), physical therapists, and sports medicine specialists to ensure seamless, top-tier patient care.
  • Participate in clinical care improvement initiatives, multidisciplinary tumor/case boards, and optional academic or research opportunities through the UPMC network.
  • Share equitable, manageable call coverage with the orthopedic team.

 

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency program. (Fellowship training in Spine Surgery, Total Joints, or Trauma is highly desirable but not required).
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility (with plans to sit for exams) by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS).
  • Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license (or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date).
  • Proven surgical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.
