Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our top-ranked, nationally recognized Orthopedics and Sports Medicine program. As a vital member of a 15-surgeon elite team, you will have the immediate opportunity to build a robust clinical, trauma, and subspecialty practice. This position seamlessly blends high-volume clinical care, trauma call responsibilities, and robust academic engagement—including teaching residents and fellows alongside participating in dedicated clinical research.
Job Description
Step into a flourishing practice backed by the highest-volume pediatric orthopedic program in the United States. In this role, you will provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care to children and adolescents while collaborating across a vast, integrated healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical & Surgical Excellence: Deliver high-quality operative and non-operative care within a multidisciplinary network. Take active call responsibility and manage complex pediatric trauma.
- Academic & Trainee Education: Educate, mentor, and guide medical decision-making for fellows and residents coming from four distinct training programs.
- Research & Quality Improvement: Integrate ongoing clinical research and continuous quality improvement (QI) metrics into your daily practice to lower infection rates and reduce lengths of stay.
- System Leadership: Represent the department on various hospital and health system committees to shape the future of pediatric surgical care.
- Administrative Diligence: Maintain thorough, timely documentation and authenticated surgical reports to optimize continuity of care and appropriate reimbursement.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited four-year medical school and an accredited post-graduate residency program in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Georgia.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Orthopedic Surgery; valid DEA registration.
- BLS or PALS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery.
- Demonstrated expertise or subspecialty focus within clinical areas like pediatric spine/scoliosis, limb difference, hand/upper extremity, or sports medicine.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of empathetic family communication and collaborative teamwork.
