Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, fellowship-trained Board-Certified or Board-Eligible (BC/BE) Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary pediatric specialty team. Job Description
Are you dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered care within a dynamic, collaborative environment? Our longstanding pediatric orthopedic practice is expanding to meet regional demand.
You will join two full-time providers managing a diverse general pediatric orthopedic caseload. Our facility serves as the premier Regional Pediatric Specialty Center, supported by 24/7 pediatric hospitalist and intensivist services, as well as a robust network of pediatric sub-specialties including pediatric surgery, anesthesiology, neonatology, neurology, and cardiology.
Practice Highlights:
- Clinical Scope: Full spectrum of pediatric orthopedics and spine care, including early-onset and adolescent scoliosis, neuromuscular scoliosis, slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE), hip dysplasia, clubfeet, lower extremity deformities, benign bone tumors, and trauma/fracture care.
- Advanced Technology: Access to a mature surgical spinal deformity program utilizing intraoperative 3D navigation adjuncts (Ziehm and Arcadis).
- Schedule & Practice Structure: Highly manageable workflow consisting of 2–3 clinic days and 2 dedicated OR days per week.
- Call Schedule: Pediatric orthopedic call only—no general adult trauma call burdens.
- Dedicated Support Team: Work alongside 2 full-time orthopedic technicians, 2 dedicated medical assistants, and 2 specialized pediatric schedulers to maximize your clinical efficiency.
Position Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency and a dedicated Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, family-centered approach to pediatric medicine.
- A strong desire to collaborate within an integrated, multi-disciplinary pediatric specialty team.
