Job Summary

Are you a pediatric orthopedic surgeon driven by clinical excellence, academic mentorship, and leadership? Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a fellowship-trained, BC/BE Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our thriving Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple, Texas.

This unique role blends a high-volume, diverse clinical practice with robust academic ties to the Baylor College of Medicine – Temple. You will join a highly collaborative, multispecialty employed group of 16 fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons. Leadership opportunities, including Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and Division Director of Pediatric Orthopedics, are available for qualified, experienced candidates.

 

Description & Position Highlights

As a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at McLane Children’s Hospital, you will care for a wide variety of pediatric ages and pathologies, ranging from general pediatric orthopedics to specialized subspecialty niches.

  • Clinical Variety: Comprehensive case mix with the opportunity to develop your specific subspecialty niche.
  • Advanced Technology & Support: Practice with state-of-the-art equipment, including EOS imaging and intraoperative CT. You will work alongside a dedicated team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and pediatricians.
  • Comprehensive Care System: Supported by a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties. Specialized children’s orthopedic support includes oncology, hand, spine, and sports medicine.
  • Academic Integration: Active participation in our fully accredited orthopedic residency program. Academic appointments are available through the Baylor College of Medicine, commensurate with your experience.
  • Leadership Track: Experienced candidates will be considered for the prestigious roles of Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at McLane Children’s Hospital and Division Director of Pediatric Orthopedics.

 

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree in Medicine (MD or DO).
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Orthopedic Surgery and a dedicated 1-year fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) by the ABOS or AOBOS.
  • Must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine from the Texas Medical Board.
  • A strong commitment to resident education, clinical teaching, and a preferred interest/experience in clinical research.
