Privacy Policy

1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Ortho & Spine Jobs (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use orthoandspinejobs.com and related services.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
Depending on the service you use, you may provide information such as your name, email address, telephone number, job-posting information, professional background, form responses, or other information you choose to submit.
Usage and technical information
Our servers and analytics services may collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, and approximate location. We use this information for security, rate limiting, troubleshooting, analytics, and service improvement.
3. Anonymous Compensation Survey
Our orthopedic and spine compensation survey is designed not to request direct identifiers such as your name, NPI, employer, city, telephone number, or email address as part of the benchmark response.
The survey may collect:
- state, specialty, practice setting, community size, years in practice, surgeon role, clinical FTE, and compensation year;
- total compensation, compensation structure, optional salary and incentive components, optional annual work RVUs, and optional call pay;
- ownership or equity availability;
- state-practice ratings and optional comments about advantages or challenges.
Responses are stored as pending until reviewed for data quality. We may flag, correct, reject, or exclude responses that appear incomplete, internally inconsistent, duplicative, or implausible.
How survey information is published
We publish grouped statistics such as percentiles, medians, productivity measures, and practice-climate summaries. We do not publish individual survey rows. Cohorts below our current minimum sample threshold are suppressed, and the threshold may be increased as the dataset grows. A map may indicate that data has been received in a state without displaying the underlying response or an exact sub-threshold count.
Optional PDF email delivery
After submitting, you may download a contributor PDF without providing an email address. If you separately ask us to email the PDF, we collect the email address and your delivery consent. The delivery record is stored separately from the benchmark fields but is linked internally to the response ID so we can generate and deliver the correct report, troubleshoot delivery, and maintain an audit record. The address is not displayed in public benchmarks, included in benchmark exports, or added to a marketing list unless you separately opt in to marketing.
Security and abuse prevention
We use technical logs, a hidden anti-spam field, temporary IP-based rate limits, one-time report tokens, and administrative review to protect the survey. An IP address is not stored as a field in the compensation response, although ordinary server or security logs may temporarily contain IP addresses.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Website. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and process device, usage, and approximate-location information. You can limit analytics through browser settings, privacy tools, or Google’s available opt-out controls.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Website and job board;
- provide requested services, forms, reports, alerts, and communications;
- build anonymous, aggregated orthopedic and spine benchmark products;
- detect abuse, investigate errors, and enforce our terms;
- comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and users.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information:
- with service providers that host, secure, analyze, or deliver our services, including website hosting, Google Analytics, Amazon SES for requested email delivery, and form-platform providers;
- when you direct us to do so or give consent;
- to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests;
- to protect the safety, rights, and property of the Website, users, or others;
- in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not provide row-level compensation responses to employers, recruiters, or commercial customers.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, legal requirements, security, and dispute resolution. Anonymous compensation responses may be retained for long-term and historical benchmark analysis. Optional report-email delivery records may be retained as needed for delivery, troubleshooting, consent records, and legal compliance.
Because the compensation survey does not ask for direct identifiers, we may be unable to locate a response later unless you retain and provide its response ID or report token.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about our processing of your personal information. You may also object to or opt out of certain processing where applicable. To make a request, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your request.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The Website may link to or embed third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
11. Children
The Website and compensation survey are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law.
