Job Summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a visionary and experienced Chief of Orthopedic Trauma to lead one of the nation’s premier musculoskeletal programs. As the clinical and administrative leader, you will oversee an expansive trauma network spanning Level 1 through Level 4 centers, spearhead policy development, and play a foundational role in our new residency program. This is an elite opportunity for a surgeon-leader to shape the future of orthopedic trauma care in a nationally ranked Institute.

Your leadership will extend across our entire network, ensuring standardized, world-class care for complex musculoskeletal injuries. You will maintain an active clinical practice at our Cedar Crest campus (Level 1 Trauma Center), treating a diverse range of pathologies, including upper and lower extremity injuries and complex pelvic fractures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Leadership: Oversee trauma protocols and clinical standards across multiple trauma centers (Levels 1–4).
  • Academic Excellence: Be on the “ground floor” of a brand-new residency program, directing trauma education and mentoring the next generation of surgeons.
  • Clinical Practice: Provide expert surgical care at our flagship Level 1 facility.
  • Strategic Growth: Participate in executive-level decision-making for the Orthopedic Institute and Jefferson Health system.

Requirements

  • Must be Board Certified (or Board Eligible) by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS).
  • Proven track record of leadership appointments and significant experience as an orthopedic trauma surgeon.
  • A current Pennsylvania Medical License (or the ability to obtain one).
  • A “network champion” with a passion for clinical excellence, resident education, and collaborative leadership.
